The app

TidyBug runs entirely on your Mac. It scans your disk read-only, shows you what it found, and moves only what you approve to the Trash. Nothing about your files, your disk or how you use the app is sent anywhere: the app has no telemetry, no analytics and no account.

Every operation it performs is logged on your Mac, in ~/Library/Logs/TidyBug/operations.jsonl, so you can see exactly what it did. The source code is public at github.com/xeveio/tidybug.

This website

tidybug.xeve.io uses Google Analytics and PostHog, which Xeve runs on its own server, to count visits and clicks on the download button. They record the pages you view, the page that sent you, your browser and device, and a rough location from your IP address. A cookie shared across xeve.io and its app sites lets us see a visit move between them. There are no session recordings, and browsers that send Do Not Track aren't counted by PostHog. None of this is in the app itself.
